Understand: SD Elements Permissions

SD Elements uses Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). There are two kinds of permissions in SD Elements:

  • Global Roles: Roles for what you can do in the application. For example, create projects, customize content, etc. You manage these roles for individual users through the User Management->Users page.

  • Project Roles: Roles for what you can do in a specific project. For example, change project settings, add notes to tasks, etc. The roles may be different for an individual user in each project. You can manage these roles from the individual edit project page, in Project->Overview->Edit.

SD Elements ships with a set of default global and project roles. You cannot edit default roles, but you can create new roles with specific sets of permissions.
