Understand: Project Profiles

A project profile is a way to automatically select common project settings for a given application type. For example, "Generic Web Applications" tend to have SQL databases, use cookies for session management, etc. The project profiles reflect the industry experience of SD Elements researchers. Project profiles help you get started using SD Elements even if you do not know the technical details of a particular application. If you use the profile's default settings and do not change any of the project settings, you are effectively using an educated and well-researched 'best guess' at what security tasks may be relevant to a particular project based on industry norms.

Administrators also have the ability to create custom project profiles to better reflect the specific technology stacks of your environment.
