Onsite Deployment: Troubleshooting JIRA and CA Agile Central (Rally) Sync

Sometimes issues can arise when syncing with Jira/CA Agile Central (Rally) on your Onsite Deployment ALM. This is due to any number of reasons, such as:

  • Unexpected data
  • Internal proxy servers

Step 1: Find the location of SD Elements

This is usually:

/docs/sde/live

Step 2: Setup configuration (see attached file)

Use the sample configuration file attached to this article to configure a JIRA/CA Agile Central (Rally) sync. Consult support for details on this file.

Step 3: Download sde.py

Download sde.py to your site-packages virtualenv directory:

sudo su - sde_admin -c "umask 022; wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sdelements/sdetools/master/sde.py -O /docs/sde/live/env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/sde.py"

Step 4: Run the sync

For Jira - On the command-line, run the following:

/docs/sde/live/env/bin/python /docs/sde/live/env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/sde.py sync_jira -v --debugmods=sdetools.sdelib.restclient -d -c sync_jira.conf.txt

For CA Agile Central (Rally) - On the command-line, run the following:

/docs/sde/live/env/bin/python /docs/sde/live/env/lib/python2.6/site-packages/sde.py sync_rally -v --debugmods=sdetools.sdelib.restclient -d -c sync_rally.conf.txt
